Staying Busy. Life is Good.

Great morning! Today is different. I feel like I have a purpose. I have several clients keeping me busy with recording, editing, and web design work. I also have my school thing at The Art Institute of California at Orange County once a week. My long term goal for now is to teach there! I want to pass on my knowledge of media arts to the next generation. The image Manipulation class is going well. I have support from my wife and I got the kids involved in my daily activities just to show them what I do daily. I want them to be independent and self-motivating. People are starting to take notice of my work ethic and I sincerely hope that this trend continues. Everyday is not promised and on that note, What legacy will YOU leave for the next generation?

Public Access TV is back in Long Beach!

We Go Live in January 2013!

I just attended the orientation for starting my own tv show!

This is BIG and will definetly require quite a bit of funding to get this show up and running.

Please donate to my cause if you can. I made it simple by adding a PayPal donate button.
ANY amount helps and will be used to make this process easier to keep the show on the air.

If you want to be a part of the show, let me know via email at: lonellmultimedia@hotmail.com and I will give

you all necessary info so you can:

A: Become a major contributor in the production of my show, and/or

B: Start your own show and become a producer of quality local programming in your own community.

I was excited to learn that public access tv was returning to Long Beach.

I used public access in Long Beach somewhere around the late 90's. it was fun then and it will be even

better now.

So far, I have 3 people that want to do something with the LBCAP PADNET services that are being

offered:

Comedian/Talk Show host MYKE-C,

Musician/rapper, PRINCE HYTE and

R&B solo artist, TY THASANGER.

So far, I have assessed the minimum startup fees total to be $180/person  just to have your

own show as a resident in the city of Long Beach.

It breaks down like this:

$50 individual membership +

$30 Producer's class +

$50 Field Production class +

$100 Final Cut Pro Editing class.

This is the minimum requirement and as you can see the classes are inexpensive considering the potential

return on investment. More info on fees can be found here: HTTP://WWW.LBCAP.ORG

I look forward to creating some quality programs featuring talented local artists and to also feature some

everyday people from my neighborhood.

More info on the process can be found at: HTTP://WWW.LBCAP.ORG

There will be more artists and people to follow so I suggest you subscribe to this info.

Let's get this show on the road!

Thanks for reading,

How was my weekend? WHAT WEEKEND?

Days and weeks are starting to run together. The fam is probably tired of me asking them"what day is it?" How do I stay motivated with these online classes? Gotta do what I gotta do! I keep meeting these rappers and musicians hustling their cd in front of barbershops and liquor stores. I was thinking about recording everytime someone asked me for some kind of donation or contribution to their musical talent. Maybe I can make a cameraphone documentary.

Don't let the fire go out!

I hope eveything is good with my people. Check it out -just to give you all a heads up, I'm still taking the web graphic design class and business tech class (both of em kicking my ass!) but I'm learning a bunch of vital info in a short period time. Also, last week I checked a book out of LBPL called Android Apps for Absolute Beginners. This book is good because it walks me through the process of creating apps, from an idea in my head to beta testing without ANY code experience at all. It's not too thick, so I'm not intimidated by the reading. If you are really into books and want access to some great e-books for free, checkout http://www.scribd.com.
I have been thinking about business lately. Your ventures will continue to grow as long as you don't let the fire go out! You saw that coming didn't you? Most major corporations start with people who share common goals. In a year, I see myself paying dues, learning more and sharing my talents with others, staying motivated, sharing ideas (one can never can ponder too many ideas) and putting together a solid business plan that I can recite verbatim. In 5 to 10 years, I see myself having fun in the sun with my business partners, friends and family after a few years of hustling, grinding and paying dues, for instance, all of us taking a "ballerific world tour!" Please believe it!  Where do you see yourself in a year? What about 5 or 10? I believe our next step is each of us coming up with a 30 second commercial. I'm not talking about the ones I shoot in DV but the 30 second "self promoting presentation" that we all can easily recite to folks who may come into contact with us as individual entrepreneurs. How do YOU sum yourself up in 30 seconds or less? Something to think about- Seriously. I look forward to your replies or comments. Peace
Cedric

Back to the grind...Ready, Set, Regroup!

WOW! I finally have some time to regroup and recover. I have been so busy with work, school, the videography, the website, the music, etc. I have learned a lot about time management in the past 5 weeks. Getting used to this switch from PC to iMac and sitting around do nothing to sitting around doing something. College work is starting to pile up so it's time for me to go "hit the books". I thought it would be a good idea to update my blog just to get the creative writing flowing. Got a wake up call at work today. Mind your P's, Q's, dot those I's and cross those T's! I'm ready to write! It works! Try it!

Enjoying the new iMac!

I've made the switch to Apple/Mac! Everything I need-none of the other stuff I don't. I even like GarageBand. Trying to find a way to import my current Pinnacle Studio projects into iMovie. Stay tuned. I'm back in school and it feels great! I actually start back on 1 May 2011. My online class is English and my distance learning is Intro to WeB Graphic Design. Tight! MGIB is gonna kick in about a month from now and I got about 20 month left to use it so....HERE I AM. I hope to keep these blog updates a little more frequent. The studio is coming together. Couchbed is next on the list. My clients gotta have a nice comfy place to sit down while I audition them or interview, etc. More to come. My next update will probably have a school update and whatever else.

Here's an update to the spin cycle thing I was on a while ago. As it turns out, I get bored very easily when it comes to exercise equipment. The kids use the bike more than I do as of late. I just hope it doesn't become a coat rack!

Do you follow people?

just asking because I noticed on twitter some people are following as many as 30-40 people at a time. I have a hard enough time keeping up with my kids let alone some random internet folks!

Tax Prep such a pain...

I wish that I could just hand it all over to someone else to take care of but the last time I did that....I got AUDITED. Thanks H&R Block for the unnecessary headaches!

Uh-Oh...- got us a Spinner bike. No excuses!!!

No excuses! I got one of those spinning cycles. Actually, Wifey picked it up for the family. Great workout with low or no impact. I've done 20-30 minutes on Monday and another 20 or so on Tuesday. I feel the burn already! I am enthusiastic about this workout lifestyle and will commit to the "2 days on then 1 day off schedule. Monday,Tuesday workout then rest on Wednesday. Same thing for Thursday and Friday rest Saturday. Cycle begins again the following week on Sunday. I feel better already. The kids like it too. Jahdee has logged the most time on the bike so far. Where does he get all that energy from anyway?

Which way to go?

Ok so now I'm torn between getting a new Pro Tools MBox Mini studio setup($399) or grabbing this hot new American Audio VMS4 DJ controller($499). Wifey wants to get into Deejaying so it will be like a new thing for her too. I want to record and do alot of other stuff as well. She says I'm not focused! We'll figure it out one way or the other. Win-win situation either way. I'll either get the VMS4 now and wait to get the studio stuff later,or get the Pro tools stuff now and the VMS4 too!

Back to the Lab!

Me and wifey went to my old friend Demaurio's studio last night. Nice setup. This dude is Hungry! I can see the drive to get his music out there is strong. I want the Mbox setup now! Wifey still wants to get the American Audio VMS4(the new hotness!) I want that plus any Akai MPC for my birthday next week. Patience.

It's MY Friday! (posted on a Thursday)

What a week this has been. I got a parking ticket on Wednesday. The last time I got one was about 9 months ago. I am usually good about stuff like that but that day I was so tired and definetly not firing on all cylinders. Also that same day, the spot where I usually park was taken up by my neighbor's big "scooby-doo style" van. Long story short, the tree in front of my spot uprooted and fell on the van! Wow! That would have been my car any other day of the week. Eye-opening situation for me. The city of LBC came by,cut it up and hauled it away. My guess is they are going to paint his van for him. It left a mark on his roof so damage wasn't too bad-but bad enough to notice. I saw the aftermath of an accident at the traffic circle on my way to pick up the kids from school. A grey Jeep Grand Cherokee was on its side and the driver was a big guy and he was right next to the vehicle being treated for injuries. Looky-loos were clogging up the road in every direction so that made me a few minutes late getting the young'ns. To top it off, I got returned mailed applications back from the L.A. County Recorder(fictitious business name statement)and the VA (Certificate of eligibility). Both of them said I left something off. "Great" now I have to send them again and wait a little longer than expected. Whatever. I've been looking at some studio packages and DJ equipment lately. I'm sold on the Mbox2 Mini package($399)and the American Audio VMS4/Harbinger APS15 powered monitors at Guitar Center. It looks like the best bang for the buck. I already put some layaway money down so it's on! I can hardly wait.

Time to step my game up...

Every now and then I get a sign or something happens where I get that nudge to step my game up. Whether it be a eye opening movie, someone says something profound or whatever. I just realized the importance of staying focused. I also updated my wishlist at Guitar Center.
